‘Moved On’ leased to Adelaide City Council 2009/2010
Friday, May 1st, 2009Adelaide City Council’s public art strategy includes renting outdoor sculptures for exhibition in Pilgrim Lane in the central business district. Rick’s two-part ‘heart’ sculpture ‘Moved On’ is leased to ACC for 2009/2010 as part of this program.
‘Moved On’ is very popular and is regularly photographed with people sitting inside the red/white heart piece. It was previously exhibited at the University of Western Sydney, and prior to that at Montalto Sculpture Prize.
Pilgrim Lane runs between Pirie Street and Flinders Street, parallel and east of King William Street, next to Pilgrim Church.
Rick Clise in artist team – concept finalist for Public Art commission
Friday, May 1st, 2009One of Adelaide’s largest public art commissions is the Aboriginal & Torres Straight Islander War Memorial to be located at the Torrens Parade Ground., with a budget of $500,000.
Rick was the project leader in an artist team with James Martin, Darren Siwes, and Warrick Keates of WAX Design that was shortlisted for concept development for this memorial. Two other teams were also shortlisted for concept development. Although Rick’s team did not win this project it was a fascinating and valuable experience working with such a committed group of artists and design professionals.
