Rick&#8217;s two-part &#8216;heart&#8217; sculpture &#8216;Moved On&#8217; is leased to ACC for 2009/2010 as part of this program.</p>
<p>&#8216;Moved On&#8217; is very popular and is regularly photographed with people sitting inside the red/white heart piece. It was previously exhibited at the University of Western Sydney, and prior to that at Montalto Sculpture Prize.</p>
<p>Pilgrim Lane runs between Pirie Street and Flinders Street, parallel and east of King William Street, next to Pilgrim Church.</p>

<p>Rick was the project leader in an artist team with James Martin, Darren Siwes, and Warrick Keates of WAX Design that was shortlisted for concept development for this memorial. Two other teams were also shortlisted for concept development. Although Rick&#8217;s team did not win this project it was a fascinating and valuable experience working with such a committed group of artists and design professionals.</p>

Rick made these three steel pencils, which are 3.5 metres tall and gratefully acknowledges the engineering assistance donated by Peter Cox of Cox Consulting Engineers.

<p>Rick made these three steel pencils, which are 3.5 metres tall and gratefully acknowledges the engineering assistance donated by Peter Cox of Cox Consulting Engineers.</p>
<p>To calculate the actual height of each coloured pencil Rick asked all of the junior school students to measure their red, yellow and blue pencils and then scaled-up the average of those results to make the steel pencils the height that they are.</p>
<p>Contrary to some comments, the colour scheme was not selected in honour of the Adelaide Crows. But it was a fun try anyway&#8230;</p>
